Salzwedel war schlie&szlig;lich der Umsiedelungsort meiner Mutter bis 1954 &mdash; ehe mein Vater aus dem Westen sie wegheiratete. Die Stadt hat sich seit den letzten 10 Jahren gemacht, aber ist noch nicht vollkommen ent&ouml;stlicht. Abbruchbauten finden sich neben schickrenovierten Gem&auml;uern. Am Ende suchten wir die alte Wohnung meiner Mutter und ihrer Eltern auf und fanden sie und traten auf den Vorhof und der jetzige Bewohner trat heraus. Das ist ja 50 Jahre her und der jetzige Bewohner war damals noch klein. Als er uns fragte, wie die Familie damals gehei&szlig;en habe, sagte meine Mutter P(xxxx). &bdquo;Ja, da kann ich mich daran erinnern, jaja,&ldquo; kam zur&uuml;ck, &bdquo;da haben wir gute Erinnerungen daran. Die waren beliebt.&ldquo;<\/p>\n<p>Dazu muss man wissen, dass mein Gro&szlig;vater m&uuml;tterlicherseits ein sehr kontaktfreudiger Mensch war, Lehrer eben, und Dorforganist, also der Chef neben dem Pfarrer in so einem oberschlesischen Dorf. Diese Kontaktfreude, das Erforschen der Umgebung und der Menschen, das Freundschaftschlie&szlig;en lagen ihm im Blut. Er war immer ein herzlicher Mann gewesen. 50 Jahre ist das her mit Salzwedel. Wenn man da so die Geschichten aus der Nachkriegszeit h&ouml;rt, die Schwierigkeiten zwischen Ost und West schon damals, die einem fast vorkommen wie die reinsten Spionagegeschichten, wie Undercoverangelegenheiten, wo man nicht einfach &uuml;berall so einfach &uuml;bernachten konnte &#8211; wo es Kuppelparagraphen gab, das waren schon eigenartige Zeiten. <\/p>\n<p>Achja, in Salzwedel gibt es dann auch noch ausgezeichneten Baumkuchen. Den Vogel schoss meine gro&szlig;e, gro&szlig;e Schwester ab, die sie fast verweigert hat, die Ernst-Th&auml;lmann-Stra&szlig;e zu befahren. Karl-Marx-Stra&szlig;e w&auml;re ja okay, aber Th&auml;lmann? Das verstand wiederum mein kleiner, gro&szlig;er Bruder nicht. Sie m&ouml;ge doch sagen, was ihr am Th&auml;lmann nicht gefallen w&uuml;rde. Der ist doch kein B&ouml;ser &mdash; und ich klugschei&szlig;erte dazwischen, wenns die Dimitroff-Stra&szlig;e w&auml;re, dann k&ouml;nnte ichs ja nachvollziehen oder die Stalin-Allee.<\/p>\n<p>Ich will da man erst gar nicht anfangen, wieviele Orte ich in Berlin nicht wiederfand nach meinem Stadtplan von 1991, als ich dann 1998 in den Osten der Stadt reisen wollte mit S-Bahn.
